We would like to invite you to our 9th Annual RC Swap Meet and Auction hosted by the Iowa City Aerohawks on Sunday, January 29 from 9:00 AM -12:00 noon. All types of RC items up for sale, airplanes, helicopters, cars, trucks, boats, hobby tools and much more, . Over 120 tables of items to be sold. Swap Meet doors open to the general public at 9:00 AM, followed by an auction promptly at 12:00 noon. Auction goes until everything is sold. A table with 1 admission is $11.00 and must be pre-reserved. Hurray, only a few tables left! General admission is $4, kids 12 and under, free. Event takes place at the new Iowa National Guard Armory located at the intersection of highway 218 and Melrose Ave. in Iowa City, Iowa. Lots of vendors too! Blake: Bob, Josh and I went down on Sunday. Flying in the dome is harder than i thought it would be but was still fun. Bob made me fly in the full contact combat that was fun but believe it or not i couldn't hit another plane to save my sole. Was doing good until i dumb thumbed it into the floor. More fun than a box rocks maybe next year i can hit something.
Stuart: I attended the event and was pleasantly surprised with helicopters. Minutes after I walked in a gentleman flew an electric Align 700 heli and put on a impressive show. I wish I could fly like that. Except for that flight all helis flew at the south end of dome. There were a lot of interesting electrics zooming around. I enjoyed the combat event. One event they chased each other trying to cut off a streamer attached to the rear of each aircraft and the other event was full contact combat, planes were dropping like flies. If you didn't go this year I recommend going next year, I know I am and I believe my heli will be flying if it survives this years flying.
