DECEMBER 2011
Meeting called to order by President Myklestad at 7:00pm at the Hardees in Mason City.
10 members present.
Old Business: No word yet as to the status of where the planned shed will be located at the flying field.
New Business: The status of the website was discussed. Progress continues to be made. Opinions that a photos section should be added to the website were expressed. Some organization of the group's photos needs to take place prior to uploading them to the website.
New business cards were discussed. The current cards have directions to the old flying field on them so they need to be updated. Any member with ideas regarding how to get free/low-cost business cards should let the group know.
Adding more stands to the RC field was discussed. Some members mentioned that having a few stands which are taller than the current ones would be handy for certain situations.
Denny Ouverson spoke with the city of Clear Lake about having the annual Float Fly at City Beach next year. Although we are still waiting on a solid go-ahead, it seemed promising that this will be approved.
Reminder: Members continued to pay their club dues ($45), if you haven't yet paid, please bring your dues to the next meeting.
Also, AMA dues deadline is December 12. Note: You can now pay your AMA dues online - HERE.
Next meeting will be Monday, January 2 at the same Hardees in Mason City.
See you then.
Note: As you may have noticed, I (the secretary) am sending this Newsletter from a different e-mail address than last month. I created a new club account so that I can just give my successor the log-in details to this e-mail account and he/she won't have to re-enter all of our e-mail addresses into his/her e-mail account.
Also, please follow this link --> Link to RC Universe Newsletter
I have been a member of RCU for quite some time now. I is a forum dedicated to anything and everything remote-control.
How many of you are members? RCU has a database of RC fields that we were in but our info was not correct. I am now the admin for our club site on RCU, so I updated the club info.
I think having our newsletters in a public place is a good thing, it lets people know that we are an active club that has members that are truly into RC.
Let me know what you think. (There isn't much in the way of formatting that I can change on this Newsletter)
In the future, instead of typing the newsletter in an e-mail, I could just post the newsletter onto RCU and then send you the link, just like the link above. What do you guys think about using RCU for posting the Newsletter?
Note: I am in no-way partial to using RCU. You won't hurt my feelings if you say you hate it. I just figured I'd see what a newsletter would look like using their system...please give feedback
